Student was  not able to work cooperatively with group to create a part of a poster showing 4 insect soldiers (one for each group member). OR Student did not draw a picture or write any reasoning for why the insect would make a good soldier.  Writing that is illegible would also cause the student to receive this grade.
Student was able to work cooperatively with group to create a part of a poster showing 4 insect soldiers (one for each group member).  Student drew a detailed picture but the reasons given for picking insect as a soldier lacked any real information.  Student could also get this grade by drawing a low quality picture  and providing moderately decent reasoning.
Student was able to work cooperatively with group to create a part of a poster showing 4 insect soldiers (one for each group member).  Student drew a detailed picture but provided only one or two good reasons for picking this insect as a soldier.  Student may also earn 3 points if they provided excellent reasons but the picture is lacking quality.
Student was able to work cooperatively with group to create a part of a poster showing 4 insect soldiers (one for each group member).  Student drew a detailed picture of insect and provided excellent reasons (facts) for why that insect would make a good soldier.

Student might have been hard to hear.  AND/OR Student gave very poor reasons verbally for picking the insect as a soldier or did not provide any reasoning. AND Student was unable to answer questions about the insect factually or did not know how to respond to questions posed.

Student was unable to answer questions about the insect factually or did not know how to respond to questions posed.
Student spoke in a clear, loud voice.  Student gave good reasons verbally for picking the insect as a soldier.  Student was unable to answer questions about the insect factually or did not know how to respond to questions posed.
Student spoke in a clear, loud voice.  Student gave good reasons verbally for picking the insect as a soldier.  Student was able to answer questions about the insect factually.
