Open House Flyer

This comprehensive website demonstrates and supports the many uses of technology in elementary education.  The site was prepared during the ICE 234 course for elementary teachers.  As you will see by reviewing my original technology journey (labeled Technology Journey I) completed in the beginning of this course that computers and the many programs available today intimidated me.  This course and the documents you will review have been a personal journey that has been at times frustrating and painful, but in the end, has opened my eyes and mind to the significant role technology plays in today’s classrooms.  A subsequent technology journey (labeled Technology Journey II) was completed at the end of ICE 234 and is a good example of how something appearing to be difficult and impossible with an open mind turned into a fantastic experience. You will find an example lesson plan prepared using technology which provides attention-catching features for elementary students and an example lesson plan using technology to teach concepts and accomplish required objectives.

Additionally, a copy of an open house flyer created during this course is available for your review.  This open house flyer demonstrated my ability to use a word processor program to be creative and that I am able to reach my target audience.  Since I am a parent of an elementary student the reading material presented in the course was very interesting .  I've highlighted some of my favorite related reading material related to this course's topic.

The last piece of information provided in this website is evaluations of educational websites.  A part of the class objective was to create the form using a word processing program and then to apply the form to the many educational websites on the world wide web.

This has been an enjoyable experience and I can honestly say that I have learned about tools that will assist me in many aspects of my life.  For comments or additional information, please e-mail me at the address noted below.
