Curriculum Standards

The rationale for making this Webquest comes from the Child Development One (CD1), and Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) course syllabuses, developed by the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, and the Department of Curriculum and Professional Development, Clark County, Nevada.  The goals found in these syllabuses used in this project are: (1) (CD1) To examine the roles and responsibilities of parenting, (2) (CD1) To explore the impact of teen pregnancy, (3) (CD1) To develop an understanding of the importance of wellness during the life cycle (4) (CD1) To gain a knowledge of the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of the newborn, infant, toddler, and preschooler, (5) (FCS) To understand the need of children, (6) (FCS) To understand the importance of preparation for mature and effective parenting.  To see the objectives used from these syllabuses see the table below.  The target population of this project is ninth through twelfth graders in a high school setting.
